Merit Contractors Association, Construction, Habitat For Humanity

Since 1991, HfH has built 123 homes. HfH raises money for their builds in various ways and one way Merit member companies are involved is through the ReStore, which is a retail outlet that sells quality new and used building supplies. The ReStore accepts donations of new and used building materials from construction contractors and other suppliers and then resells them to the general public. Restore accepts items that our member contractors would generally remove from their work sites anyways, but by donating, these items could be sold at the HfH Restore rather than directed to landfills. All of the ReStore's proceeds cover Habitat for Humanity Edmonton's administration costs meaning that 100% of other donations are used to build the homes.

As part of Merit’s commitment to the community, we actively promote this partnership to our members by asking them to divert unusable/leftover/odd-sized materials from the landfills and donate these products to HfH’s ReStore under the Merit Contractors Association name.
