Course Description
Designed for foremen or other supervisory staff in the construction industry, the Supervisor Training Program teaches valuable skills such as time management, communication skills and how to maintain productivity. The general supervisory principles acquired here can be applied in any setting where one is overseeing or directing the activity of others. The program consists of in-class instruction and on-the-job assignments. Gold Seal accredited with a value of 6 points. Booking can be made through either Merit office or online.

Advanced Supervisor Training Program (ASTP)

Course Description
ASTP is a follow-up to the Supervisor Training Program and offers further training in human resource management with a focus on people skills. The program consists of 36 hours of in-class instruction and is Gold Seal accredited for 5 points. Completion of the Supervisor Training Program is recommended, but it is not a prerequisite to attend this course. Booking can be made through either Merit office or online.
Course topics: Motivation & Leadership, Team Building, Conflict Management, Decision Making & Problem Solving, Labour Law & Employment Standards, Drug & Alcohol Awareness, Interviewing, Hiring & Terminating, Report Writing, and Change Order Management (NEW).
