Merit's Awards and Scholarships

Merit Contractors Association Scholarship Program

Merit recognizes the importance of post-secondary education – whether it's university, college or technical training. As a result, Merit offers a scholarship program that will help the children of employees of Merit member companies pay expenses in the first year of their post-secondary program, including apprenticeship technical training. Merit will contribute $400 to 100 students who have completed high school and are beginning their first year studies.

The Merit Contractors Association Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of grade 12 academic standing and proof of enrolment for their current year of post-secondary education. These students must be the children of employees participating in the Merit salaried or hour bank plan. In addition, students must be under 23 years of age as of the deadline.

The scholarship is for one year and will apply to any accredited post-secondary institution.
