The awards of Merit recognize the best employees and apprentices employed with Merit member companies.

Recognize your star employee with the Merit-Royal SunAlliance Construction Employee of the Year Award! Three $2,000 cash awards will be awarded to three outstanding construction field employees.

Merit Contractors Association also awards outstanding first, second, third and fourth-period Merit member apprentices with the Top Merit Apprentice award.

These prestigious awards of achievement will be handed out during Merit’s 30th Anniversary & Award celebration, September 15, 2016.

WCB Review - Now Open

The Government of Alberta opened up the process to the public consultation for a review of the Workers’ Compensation Board.

Your perspectives on WCB are an extremely important part of this process. Employers like you are the backbone of Alberta’s economy. If we can be an active and constructive part of this process, the Panel will have the input they need to understand our businesses and pressures and should be able to make more informed decisions.

There are two main ways to have your voice heard:

• An online workbook for you to provide your opinions and experiences to the panel (https://extranet.gov.ab.ca/opinio6/s?s=WorkbookPROD)

• Written submissions to the Review Panel (submit by email to wcbreview@gov.ab.ca

  We are also encouraging you to fill out the Review Panel’s questionnaire for employers and employer representatives (https://extranet.gov.ab.ca/opinio6//s?s=EmployerPROD) so the panel has an even clearer view of the real life situations of employers. Other information on the WCB Review process can be found at http://www.alberta.ca/wcb-review.cfm. In order to be considered, this input is required by the panel by July 15^th, 2016.
