COVID-19: A Pandemic of “Novel” Workplace OHS Issues

Much has been written on the new workplace protective equipment, hygiene measures, physical distancing and screening measures expected at work places to meet evolving public health guidance during the current pandemic. Members of our national OHS and Workers’ Compensation Practice have, however, been dealing with a range of more complex issues coast to coast.
The focus of this article is on several key OHS-related lessons learned and “novel” OHS legal issues arising from the pandemic, which continue to create issues for employers, OHS, HR and management, as workplaces continue to reopen – and work to stay open – with “public health“ measures in place.
