Alberta Enters Stage 2 of Reopening: What this means for Employers & Workplaces

Alberta entered Stage 2 of the provincial government’s Open for Summer Plan on June 10, 2021. Stage 2 includes a lift of the mandatory work from home order, allowing employers to recall employees back to the workplace. However, the Alberta Government still recommends remote work where possible and employers must maintain health and safety measures to reasonably address the continuing COVID-19 hazard.

Employers should carefully consider the health and safety implications of immediately recalling all of their employees back to the workplace, especially where remote work is feasible.
